Art Therapy groups are designed to facilitate the therapeutic process using art as the main form of exploration and discovery of personal experiences and emotional expression. The group format provides a different dynamic than 1:1; the shared experiences of the group play an essential part in the healing process of the individual. Group Art Therapy supports individuals in feeling less alone though learning about the collective experience of the group and feedback from other members. It is an environment of cooperation and communication where the individual can feel an overall sense of community and reduce feelings of isolation. The group can collectively inspire and motivate each other to make personal transformations, and it shows in the art!
